Welcome!

This painting journal is about my own personal journey as an artist striving to improve. Although I studied art, taking as many night courses as I could, I wasn’t able to devote much of my time to painting until now.

I am currently participating in a course with Daniel Edmondson, a very knowledgeable, talented artist, who has helped me to jumpstart my career. Most of my paintings on this blog will be from that course, along with other personal inspirations. I have also studied with very influential instructors such as Michel Daniel, Linda King, Stas Orlovski and Dr. Carol Roemer, all from the fabulous Art Department of Long Beach City College.

My style of painting has always been somewhat realistic and tight. Although it will be a difficult process for me, I would like to become a more “painterly” painter. I want my brush strokes to be more purposeful and beautiful and I would like to paint from life as often as I can.

I hope you enjoy my journey as I stumble across the many happy accidents that will make me a better artist.
